A 7-month-old girl found in a hot sport utility vehicle in Olathe has been released from the hospital and is recovering.

Police are investigating the matter as possible child endangerment, but no charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.

The incident took place about noon Monday when police were called to the parking lot of Target at 20255 W. 154th St. They found the infant, sweating in the vehicle with the windows rolled up and the doors unlocked.

Investigators estimate she had been alone for about 30 minutes while her mother was inside the store. About 10 minutes after officers took the child from the car, the mother arrived.
