Babies are the most important thing in any parents life. You brought them into the world to love and protect them. Along the way there will be good times and bad times but you can give your child the best start in life. Babies can bring a lot of joy into any person’s life and I can guarantee no one would change their child for the world. When we have children we have to take extra special care of them and teach them how to walk and talk. When they get a little older you will see them gain more independence as each day comes they will start to do little things for themselves. How exciting is it when you hear them say their first words and their first word is you mama or dada. From that day onwards they will progress and start to add more words to their vocabulary. If you want your child to have the best start in life then you can help them significantly by teaching your baby how to read.

How to teach your baby to read?

It doesn’t matter how young your baby is a bed time story can make so much difference in their lives. When they begin to take a little more notice of their surroundings then you can start having a storey time. Picture books are great to start off with to teach your baby to read. The pictures are interesting to a small child and as they begin to get used to the storey they will begin to explain what exactly the storey is about.

There are so many books that are suitable for babies and toddlers and the younger they are when you start to teaching to read with them the more love they will have for books when they are older. Baby’s often start with sounds in their vocabulary so to start off why not invest in a book that makes different sounds or one that has different textures. When they begin to get the hang of talking you could then introduce picture cards and letter cards to help them become more familiar with the alphabet. Once a child knows their ABC’s and 123’s there’s no stopping them. Reading to your child from an early age also helps to bring on their speech and vocabulary.

When they get to the age of a toddler you should then let them read to you if they can’t read a lot of words then get them to describe the pictures of the book. Before long they will become familiar with a storey and will be able to read it themselves.
This is also way to create a special bond between parent and child even if it’s one storey during the day every little helps. By doing this with your child on a regular basis you are giving them a head start in life and when they read the first book on their own you will be so proud because you taught them how to do that.
