Swine flu has been infecting millions of people around the world and it is a powerful diseases which could be a successor or a descendant of the previous deadly diseases like the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), and the bird flu, which more and more people and babies have been suffered and died n the disease. They are the world’s dangerous diseases that has ever made and what concerns them is that, those people who are infected and been detected with the disease are traveling around, and more cases have been detected. Swine flu has the most cases affected than any other rare diseases, and until now, swine flu is still unstoppable to spread around the world.

One of the reasons why many people including babies are being infected by swine flu because of travel issues which swine flu carriers are traveling to their respective homes and people who are boarding the plane or a boat are infected as well, and being suspected for the possible swine flu virus. Airports have no idea how swine flu has been traveling across the world, and they have no control or some plans to cancel flights for safety measures regarding swine flu. Any management in different airports worldwide are just trying to let them go, because they do care about their money, and not the people’s health, except for the thermal scanners, which are detecting the passenger’s temperature, if they have flu symptoms, which the airport management in charge of the thermal scanner, are acting quickly to deliver the affected passenger to the hospital for some tests if the passenger is positive or negative of swine flu.

Airport management must conduct themselves a meeting or a conference regarding these issues which their area or country is affected by the wine flu virus, which of course starts with Mexico, the epicenter of the virus, and they should know that they have the power to cancel flights or travel for a short period of time in order to prevent the spread of the swine flu virus, but they don’t implemented it, and survey shows that most of the swine flu carriers came from those who have traveled in an aircraft over and over again. The management should always be ready in order for the safety of their passengers by providing medical treatments to them and to motivate those who are infected to observe self quarantine to help prevent spread of the deadly swine flu virus.

So if you care with your babies, then I suggest you cancel your trip if the destination is has swine flu pandemic, so you could avoid Swine Flu in Babies.

H1N1 virus also called as swine flu virus is wrecking havoc around the world. You would be indeed an ignoramus or have not been reading the newspapers if you never heard of this new strain of virus that has killed many people in Mexico and has spread to as many as 20 countries around the world. There have been alarms sounded across the world, as people and health agencies scramble to find a solution to this problem of pandemic proportions that has taken the world by storm. It is indeed high time that we gain some information about this virus and its symptoms.

Symptoms of swine flu are similar to but more severe than common flu. The common symptoms are runny nose, sore throat, cough, breathlessness, congestion, mucus formation, fever and temperature with chills and body pains. In some cases patients also display symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea which could complicate matters. In case of those above 65 years of age, the symptoms could get accentuated, as is the case with kids who are less than 5 years of age. Pregnant women and HIV positive folks also are at high risk with respect to the affliction by H1N1 or swine flu virus. Such categories of folks should be carefully watched over for signs or symptoms of swine flu and action taken immediately.

Swine flu is contagious or communicable. If you have any flu symptoms, do not leave home and please avoid contact with outsiders when you are under quarantine as you could spread the disease to them. If the symptoms of flu do not subside and indeed persist do wear a mask and go to visit a doctor. You also have to cover your sneezes and fomites that are the infection particles with tissue which has to be properly discarded too. Do remember that the virus can spread from day one of infection right up to day 7 so you cannot afford to be careless about yourself as you could jeopardize public health that way.

If your flu symptoms continue you have to contact a health official and get the proper tests done to determine nature of virus infection. If the flu becomes very widespread, testing may not be required and one can go in for treatment. There are specific anti viral drugs that are prescribed by medical practitioners in order to treat for H1N1 infection. Some of the most common drugs that are now well known all over the world are Tamiflu which is essentially oseltamivir and also zanamivir. It is best to get treatment early and as close to the date of infection which is typically within 2 days of infection. However treatment can be done even if detection of infection is later than 2 days from infection.

In case of swine flu infection aspirin and related drugs should be avoided by all means, as these could cause after effects or side effects like Reye syndrome which is very risky to human health. For teenagers, one must check that aspirin containing products are not contained in the prescribed medicine against swine flu. For kids medical supervision and advice is of the essence. If you see any symptoms of flu, do get yourself or your loved ones checked quickly to prevent higher severity of case of swine flu infection later.

Swine flu or influenza A (H1N1) is a strain of flu which was only seen in pigs until recently. The flu strains mainly surface among poultry and pigs. When they get transmitted to humans, they cause human epidemics. Swine flu in babies can be fatal and require immediate medical attention and treatment.

Swine flu can affect babies and cause a high risk of mortality. You should know all about the signs of swine flu to be guarded against this disease. This flu virus mostly affects very weak individuals including children. It may some times be very hard to recognize this disease in children. You can recognize swine flu in babies by looking for some indicators. By identifying these signs, you can provide emergency care for your baby before it becomes very late.

Signs of swine flu

Swine flu in babies can start with flu like symptoms. The signs of this virus are similar to many other diseases. If a child has fever more than 101 degrees subsequent to a cold it can be swine flu. Another symptom of this disease is a worsening cough. While treating the child for flu, if their cough worsens, it can be a sign of this virus.

The second symptom of this disease can be rash accompanied by fever. Some children may develop blue discoloration of skin. This may be due to dearth of oxygen and the child has to be given immediate medical attention.
The child may also stop taking fluids if he/she has developed this condition. Dehydration can be dangerous among young children and they must be taken for emergency care treatment.

The child may also develop breathing problems as a result of this disease. They may experience shortness of breath or may be breathing rapidly. In such cases, it pays to get medical help quickly so that they do not suffer adverse affects.

Some babies with swine flu may also appear uncomfortable due to sever body aches. Babies may tend to wriggle away while you hold them and suffer from acute body ache. In such cases, you must take them to a hospital for emergency treatment as it can be a sign of a swine flu viral infection.

Some babies affected by swine flu may not maintain eye contact. This is also a symptom of acute viral infection. Babies affected by swine flu may also be unable to wake up, in which cases you must call the ambulance immediately.

Swine Flu Treatment options

Swine Flu is no doubt a deadly virus. But it can be cured using antiviral medications such as Tamiflu. You can save your baby’s life by getting him treated immediately. As this epidemic can get worse before improvement, you must be clear regarding the signs of the virus so that you can get emergency care.

How to Avoid Swine flu Babies

You can help babies avoid swine flu by keeping the baby clean and not going out when he/she is ill. They should also avoid contact with sick people. Good hygiene must be maintained at home. Young children must be taught to wash their hands regularly using soap as a precaution against this disease. They must also be taught to cover their mouths while coughing and sneezing. By giving immediate medical attention you can avoid the harmful effects of swine flu on your baby.

Impetigo is a bacterial infection that its most common victim tends to be children. It is a very contagious skin disease that children seem to catch from each other during their time in school and on the playground. Adults can also catch impetigo but kids seem especially susceptible to it because of their poor cleaning habits. Helping your child remember good grooming habits will go a long way to help them prevent catching impetigo and other similar bacterial infections.

Your child can catch impetigo many various ways. This includes having open sores and touching or being touched by an infected area of another child. The first sign of your child being infected may be around the nose and mouth areas of the body. Signs of infection can also show up around the hands and forearm parts of the body as well. Once they have caught the infection your child may aggravate the situation by scratching, which will spread the disease to other parts of their body. This can lead your child to start to spread the infection to other members of the family through normal household items. This includes towels, pillows, wash clothes, bed sheets and other everyday items. Once your child is infected you should pull them out of school and go to the doctors to receive antibiotic treatments. It’s important that you try to help your child limit the spread of infection on their body. The smaller the amount of infection the better the chance that an antibacterial ointment will do the trick of curbing the disease. If it starts to spread creating a larger area of infection or to other parts of the body there is a good chance that your doctor will prescribe pills or some sort of liquid to help fight the infection.

The best way to fight this infection is to teach your kids how not to catch this or similar diseases in the first place. The biggest key in this fight is to reinforce proper hygiene at home and at school. This starts with teaching your children to always wash their hands when they come from outside playing with their classmates. It is also a good idea to teach your children to avoid contact with open cuts, scratches and bruises that form on other children. Sometimes children are fascinated with scars and bruises and will likely be curious when they see them on other children. A good amount of time this curiosity leads to touching which is never a good ideal. Instill in your children that, if they happen to accidentally touch a fellow classmates cut or bruise, that they should wash their hands as quickly as possible. This is a good idea for more than just avoiding impetigo. Your child should also be aware of what to do if they themselves receive a bruise or cut on the playground or in class. Instruct them to tell a teacher or a nurse about the cut or bruise. While they are being attended to, they should not be afraid to ask the teacher or nurse to wash the cut right away, before the bandaged is placed on top of the cut.

In conclusion as a parent your child will not remember to follow these rules unless they are constantly reminded of them on a semi regular basis. The practice of good hygiene starts at home. It is a good ideal that this philosophy becomes embedded into your children. This will save you as a parent a lot of restless itchy nights.

Diapers are used for babies to stop excreted material of baby from falling down. These diapers are not easy for babies to wear. They are closed from all sides to prevent excretion leakage. Rashes are formed on bottom of baby if diaper is allowed to stay on his body for long time. Sometimes babies get infected by yeast if diapers stay moist for long duration. Rashes formed on bottom of a baby go away after a period of time. Sometimes these rashes become extreme and baby gets infected. Rashes formed by diaper can take 3-4 days to get healed. Only thing you should do to clean them is use a diaper cream. If you don’t apply a cream to your baby before putting on a diaper, baby can get yeast infection.

Baby Yeast infection makes rashes look dark, and brings pus in them. Yeast infection can spread easily to other parts of body. Before it spreads on body you should take steps for curing it. You should use an anti fungal cream for baby. Antifungal cream consists of an ingredient called miconazole. This ingredient prevents infection from spreading to other parts. Sometimes antifungal creams fail to stop yeast infection. When they don’t show any reaction for 2-3 days you should stop their usage. Using them further can cause allergy to baby.

To stop baby yeast infection from spreading to further body parts, you should follow natural remedies. Natural remedies include natural oils, baby lotions and herbal bath. One basic way to treat yeast infection is to allow air to touch bottom of baby. Moist diaper area can allow yeast to grow, so you should stop using diapers when you see rashes on bottom of baby. Before changing to next diaper you should allow baby to be free for some time. He should be left in open air. Diaper should not be tied tightly to his bottom. It should be left free to prevent heat tapping.

Sometimes yeast rashes are formed because of breast feeding of mother. Yeast infection can spread through milk of mother. Using antibiotics at the time of giving milk to baby can induce problems in baby. Antibiotics can destroy good bacteria required for growth of baby. They can infect milk and cause infection. Yeast infection can spread from mother to baby. If mother is having yeast infection she should stop giving milk to her baby. Giving milk to a baby at the time of yeast infection can damage baby’s immune system.

It is better to take suggestions of a good child pediatrician to cure yeast infection. Doctors check seriousness of this infection and give proper treatment. Diaper area should be kept clean all the time. Baby herbal soap or shampoo should be used at the time of cleaning a baby. Herbal products are safe to use, and they do not induce any side affects. Infected areas of child from yeast infection should be cleaned gently using cotton. Rubbing harshly on bottom parts of baby can cause pain. Washing your child regularly after every bowel movement can prevent yeast formation and the best way to get rid of baby yeast infection.

Allergy is commonly seen in young people. It’s always difficult for parents to predict type of allergy of their children. Parents love their kids; they always try to keep children healthy and energetic. Allergy is common problem seen in children below 10 years. Allergy can be of various types: Some children have food allergy while others have allergy to pollen, dust, diapers etc. It is necessary for parents to understand health condition of their children. Parents should figure out the type of allergy their child has and give treatment accordingly.

Allergy is most common among babies. Allergy in a baby is the result of a weak immune system. Irritants that affect body should be killed by immune system. If they are not killed by immune system allergy can raise to high level. While treating allergy of a baby, parents should be cautious. They should exactly know condition of their baby. Rashes can be formed on skin of baby because of diapers, clothes. Parents should observe their child and find out which cloth is causing rashes on their body. In order to prevent diapers from causing allergy parents should apply antifungal creams on bottom of their baby.

Different types of solutions can be applied to problems of a baby. For example: If a baby is facing dust allergy then parents should use dust filters in their home. Rashes formed by diapers can be prevented by using natural creams. If a baby is facing lung irritations then parents should use a HEPA filter. They should apply a warm cloth to baby’s chest to clear lung irritations.

If allergy is related to lungs then parents should use olbas and eucalyptus oils for solving that problem. These oils have to be poured in warm water and baby should be allowed to inhale steam coming out of that solution. Providing an environment of high humid air can reduce air-borne allergy of a baby. Extra moisture present in the air can remove dust particles and pollen particles, making it safe for baby. Skin related problems of a baby should be shown to a doctor. Skin allergy can be because of various reasons. Besides showing to a doctor parents can follow some general principles. Parents can use natural herbals for their baby.

Allowing a baby to move in fresh air can clear all skin problems. Harsh medications should be prevented on baby skin. Food plays an important role in reducing allergy. Food rich in omega fatty acids can reduce allergy and increase immunity of children. Though doctors can predict reasons behind all allergy conditions, they fail to predict problems related to food allergy. Doctors won’t be able to say about food item that is causing problems in your child. Baby’s immune system is totally dependent on breast feeding of his/her mother. If mother eats well and drinks healthy drinks, her child will get sufficient nutrients through breast feeding. While breast feeding a baby her mother should not use any antibiotic tablet. Using antibiotics can weaken immune system of her baby.

A normal body temperature of a baby should be about ninety eight degrees Fahrenheit. If it becomes one degree to three degrees above its normal value, then it is considered as a fever. An infant’s immune system is not fully formed and not as efficient in fighting off infections especially on the first few months of the baby’s life. This is the reason why it is very important to learn how to accurately take a baby’s temperature. In case it gets higher than the normal temperature, you need to know how to cure infant fever.

Fever can be caused by a lot of things. However, more often than not, fever is caused by an infection. When the body’s immune system perceives a ‘trespasser’ like a certain bacteria or virus, a chemical message is transmitted to the brain’s temperature center making the inside of the body hotter than the usual. Sometimes, it is better to be thankful if a baby has a fever because it tells us that there may be an infection and that something is wrong.

If a baby is not more than two or three months old, it is crucial that he or she gets a proper medical attention. Fever on babies of four to six months, depending on the gravity, can be well taken care at home. Be sure to keep the appropriate and accurate thermometer, while the digital one is probably much better. If the baby’s temperature spikes up beyond the normal temperature, give your baby plenty of fluids to drink in order prevent dehydration. This also helps in cooling the baby’s body, thereby decreasing the possibility of making the fever even higher. Plenty of rest is also recommended for the child to feel much better afterwards. Ensure that the baby gets plenty of sleep when sick. Moreover, you can keep the room temperature at around seventy to seventy four degrees Fahrenheit as much as possible. This also helps the body temperature cool down. Dressing the baby in light cotton fabric will help the heat escape from the body.

A bath in lukewarm water can also sometimes help lower a fever. Before the bath however, acetaminophen may be given to the child. In the event that the baby is chilled especially after the bath, remember to put on an extra blanket and monitor it closely. As soon as the chills stop, remove the extra blanket to help maintain the temperature of a child. Be mindful of how the medicine is given. Always read the label for instructions.

Taking these steps on how to cure infant fever helps, but if you feel that it is going out of hand, immediately call your pediatrician. Especially if the baby experiences constant vomiting and diarrhea, or a fever that comes and goes for a couple of days, seizures, stomach pains, skin rashes, unusually high pitch crying, sore or swollen joints, wheezing or problems breathing, swelling of the soft spot of the head, and limping or unresponsiveness, it is crucial to take action at once. After all, it is always better to be safe than sorry.

The skin of the babies is sensitive. It is prone to acquire rashes, such as the type caused by the diaper and heat. Of course, the most effective way of curing the rashes of your baby is to consult the doctor. But if you think that you take matters into your own hands, you can search for simple remedies that are proven effective by users. You can ask other mothers on how to cure baby rash or search the internet for the cure that is appropriate for the mildness or severity of your child’s rashes.

One effective way of curing baby rash is the application of natural ingredients that can be found in your home. The canola oil or sunflower oil can be used for the common types of rashes. To apply this, you need to first clean the affected area gently with an unscented baby wipes or damp cloth. If you are going to use the cloth, make sure to use lukewarm water to drench it. However, if the rash is very irritated, you may skip this part as this is just a cleansing procedure. After cleaning the affected area, dip several cotton balls on canola oil or sunflower oil and apply to the skin generously. These types of oils are guaranteed safe and they do not cause any side effects or irritation. For this to be effective, you have to repeat the application every time you change the baby’s diaper.

If you are using an ointment bought over the counter, the procedure is the same. You must first clean the affected part of the skin and apply the ointment in a thin layer. Make sure that the area is covered well before putting the diaper on the baby. You also have to apply the ointment as directed by the label.

In contrast, preventing the rashes is still the best way to keep the skin of your babies smooth and healthy. You already know that their skin is sensitive so using baby friendly products is recommended. Skin friendly products include soft clothing articles, quality diapers, as well as toiletries with baby friendly labels. As much a possible, use baby clothes made from 100% cotton because they absorb sweat and heat effectively, thereby reducing rashes. Moreover, you can consult your pediatrician regarding the sensitivity of your baby’s skin so that you know what brands of baby products you are going to use. If the skin of your baby is really sensitive, you must avoid using scented products, such as wipes, baby powder, and diaper. In addition, scented detergents must not be used when washing your baby’s clothes. With these measures, you minimize the possibilities of rashes in your baby’s skin.

On the other hand, these ways on how to cure baby rash are confined to these kinds of rashes only: heat rash, diaper rash, and rashes from certain types of food. Remember that when the rashes are severe and they can cause other types of problems, consult your pediatrician.

For babies though, it looks cute. But just like us, they also experience the same uneasiness and annoyance when having hiccups. It is therefore necessary to know how to cure baby hiccups.

There are many explanations about what hiccups are and why we experience it, however only a few theories have scientific basis. Hiccups are not really a major health disaster. It occurs when our diaphragm muscle that separates our chest cavity from the abdomen works into a bit of spasms and spontaneously shuts down our vocal cords, produces that ‘hic’ sound, which often leads to a series of ‘hic’ for a few minutes. For babies, hiccups are sometimes triggered by drinking too fast, indigestion, laughing too much in an empty stomach or simply by being too tired.

There are plenty of means to stop hiccups, customarily the ones passed to us by our mothers from their mothers and so on. In fact, many of them work. Some medical experts even admit that your favorite family cure to hiccups can sometimes be as good (sometimes, even better) than the ones they prescribe. Here are some simple cures that you can add to your list in curing baby hiccups:

First, an important cure you can add to your list is belching, which is easily recognized when you hear the sound ‘burp’. It is easy enough for adults to force themselves to burp. Since babies cannot burp right on cue, you can help them by gently patting them on the back and hold them in an upright position against your shoulder. This is so much better than patting a baby in a sitting position since babies cannot tell if the pressure they feel on their backs is too much.

Sometimes, a baby swallows air that could inflate the stomach which often leads to hiccups. The way to tell if this is happening is by checking the nipple of the formula bottle. If you turn it upside down the milk should drip from it a continually not just couple of times until it stops. Experiment with different bottles until you get the right one. Third, feeding the babies less than what they should get is just as bad as feeding them too much. Try feeding your baby small portions of food one at a time and never force them to eat more than what they want.

It is easy to manage baby hiccups if you know how to cure them. It is something that happens to everyone. However, it is important that we closely monitor how long the hiccups of a baby take place. If it lasts for more than a day, be warned and consult your doctor.

An atopic dermatitis, common known as eczema, is a skin rash that usually appears during a child’s first year. Almost twenty percent of infants and young children experience eczema. This can be seen on a baby’s forehead and scalp and can sometimes spread to the arms, chest, legs back and other parts. Although not contagious, it is very important to know how to cure baby eczema.

First thing you want to do is learn how to recognize eczema. The rashes produced by eczema may look dry and scaly or red and inflamed. Sometimes, the rash may be made up of red bumps that can blister if scratched. But before applying any cream to it, make sure to consult a physician for a diagnosis and proper cure. In some cases, however, eczema can be caused by an allergy from certain foods. Most often, you can get it from a cow’s milk, eggs, soy, wheat, peanuts and fish can cause this. If you suspect that the food they ingest may have caused this, try to eliminate the food in your baby’s diet. In the event that the baby is still breast fed, make sure that the mother always maintains balanced diet as it affects the milk that the baby is drinking.

If your baby has eczema, scratching will be a real problem because eczema can be very itchy. It is therefore ideal to closely monitor the child. Keep the nails short all the time. Help avoid scratching it by playing with the baby to divert their attention from scratching the itchy areas.

Make sure to bathe your baby daily, if possible, because it keeps the skin from becoming too dry. Be sure not to make the water too warm or too cold. It is better use lukewarm water. Use a mild soap and shampoo and high quality detergent soap on the baby’s clothes as their skin is easily irritated. After bathing, instead of rubbing the towel to dry the skin, gently tap a soft towel into the baby’s skin. Preferably, apply a substantial amount of moisturizer or emollient to seal in the baby’s natural body moisture. An emollient is an ointment, cream, or lotion.

Also, avoid dressing the baby with wool or any scratchy material so that the skin can breathe. It is better to choose cotton and other smooth fabrics to lessen skin irritation. In addition, be mindful of the sheets used in the baby’s crib or bed. Make sure to use the softest possible sheets like cotton mittens. In addition, keep the child from getting too warm or too cold as changes in temperature can also make eczema even worse. Always keep a cool compress and moisturizers that you ca easily find once the eczema flares up.

If in case the rashes become even more inflamed or infected, consult a pediatric dermatologist Situations like this sometimes require different medications like mild topical steroids and over the counter skin products. Now that you know the basic ways of how to cure baby eczema, it is very important to know what to do. Keep in mind that there are always ways to improve the situation and make things better for you and your child.
