Newborn babies sleep for most of their first year. On an average, the spend 16 hours every day in bed. This can lead to many problems for your baby such as infant rashes and sores. When you take the time to read up on common problems in new born babies, you will be able to help prevent these issues from occurring as often as they do. It is simply amazing how many parent, while loving their child, fail to perform the necessary things needed to prevent common everyday issues.

Your child should sleep for long periods of time and never take short cat naps. They should not sleep walk or suffer from colic either. If the become dependent upon a doll or blanket in growing up this can create many issues later on in their childhood. These and many other problems can occur on a regular basis and you must do everything possible to prevent them. While your new born may spend a significant amount of time asleep, this does not mean that common problems will not occur so you need to always stay vigil and on the lookout for tell-tale signs of their development.

Do your newborn a favor and make sure that you have taken the time to read up on common problems in newborn babies so that you can do what ever is necessary to prevent them from happening. Summary
Getting your baby to sleep in his or her crib can be extremely trying, especially for a new parent who is just learning how to take care of and deal with a new little person who needs absolutely everything done for them. If you don’t get your child used to sleeping in his or her crib early on, it can create problems for you later on when he or she is older.

Below I will talk about 4 steps to take in order to get your baby acclimated to the crib:
1. Create an atmosphere that lets your baby know it’s time for bed.

The first step to getting your baby on a sleep schedule in his or her crib is to create an atmosphere that shows baby the difference between awake time and sleepy time. When babies are new, they don’t necessarily know the difference or that they are supposed to be asleep at night. Turning the lights low and the TV or radio down is a start. Getting your baby to do more relaxing and calm activities or simply snuggling with your baby will help him or her relax and feel sleepy.

2. Set a bedtime routine and follow through with it.

It’s never too early to have a bedtime routine. Most children work best with repetition. Even if you think your baby is too young to have a story read to him or her, you should start. It really does make a difference and it instills an interest in books early on. Usually, hearing a parent’s voice is soothing to baby.

You can create a relaxing bedtime routine by giving your baby a relaxing bath and changing him or her into sleep clothes. Turn the lights low and snuggle up with baby and read him or her a story. Try stroking your baby’s face, arms and hands. Light massage may also lull baby into a deep sleep.

3. Create a schedule for your baby.

It’s important to have a schedule for your baby. Babies have little internal clocks and they can adapt to a schedule and get used to one quicker than you think. Putting baby down for naps and bedtime at the same time consistently each day is very important. It’s a lot easier to get baby to sleep in his or her crib if they are used to falling asleep at certain times throughout the day.

4. Sometimes babies just have to work it out for themselves.

Once you’ve done the above, you can transition your baby into his or her crib. Start by putting your baby in his or her crib. Tuck him or her in and explain in a soothing voice that it’s time to go to bed now and that they are safe. Your baby may cry. Don’t take him or her out of the crib. Leave the room and wait 10 or 15 minutes. If your baby still isn’t falling asleep, enter the room, make sure he or she is covered up and that everything is okay, but do not take the baby out of the crib. Reassure by talking in a soothing voice and touching your baby lovingly.

You can do the above three or four times and after that try letting them cry themselves to sleep. Sometimes this can take days, but it’s important that your baby feel safe and secure in the crib, but not that you have to stay with him or her in order for them to fall asleep.

Many parents ask about how long a baby should sleep, as most already know, they need a lot of sleep because they will be less tired, and the parents will also get more rest, which is very important. The older the baby gets, the more he/she will sleep. Many babies will not even sleep through a whole night until 3 to 6 months, but this varies a lot on the type of baby you have, what gender they are, and also if they are very energetic. Always try to give them a nap around 2-4 PM as they will often get very tired during the day, and will need extra sleep, as the 8 or 10 hours isn’t generally enough for them.

If you find that your baby isn’t sleeping enough, try calling your doctor, as your baby may have a problem that you don’t know about, or he needs to train his habits.

When my baby boy was 1 to 3 months old, Sometimes I have a problem with getting babies to sleep through the night. At that time I didn’t knew what must I did to make my baby get to sleep through the night, because we were new parent and not much information i had to solve that problem.

* PROBLEM: Kids wise up to the routine and fight it.

* SOLUTIONS: ”As toddlers get smarter, parents have to get smarter and they have to get more creative,” says Jodi Mindell, author of Sleeping Through the Night.

She recommends a routine that allows children choices, such as
which pajamas to wear or which two books to read. ”They will feel like
they’re in control,” Mindell says.

Another option: Craft an illustrated chart on which kids can

consistent – for example, three nights a week you get home at 5 p.m.,
two nights a week you get home at 6 p.m. – you can simply create two
different routines based on your arrival time,” Pantley says. ”When
you get home later you can eliminate a step, such as bath time, or
shorten parts of the routine to make up for lost time.”

* PROBLEM: You’ve let the routine slide during holiday time or a vacation.

* SOLUTIONS: It’s OK to be more flexible at
Grandma’s house or a hotel, Mindell says. Just make sure to resume the
routine ”from the very first night you get home,” she adds.

My first baby have the same problem with sleep, my baby always wake up at the
midnight because of thirsty and need a milk for feeding. After the feeding is finished, I have a problem to make him sleep again, I need a long time to make him slept. How to make our baby sleep again without problem?

What your baby does during the day can affect baby at night. If baby had too much excitement during the day, he may not sleep through the night. It may take several days for baby to get back to his usual sleeping pattern.

I think there are many ways to make our baby sleep, The way that I could share to You is try to give your baby a soft massage in your baby’s body, sing a soft song, but don’t sing a loud. But if you are not confidence with your voice, you could play some soft music, but don’t play to a loud! The loud sound will disturb your baby, and your effort to make him slept will failed, and Your Neighbor will knock your Door and Say:”Hey, Don’t Sing A loud Please, I cannot Sleep hear your noise”!!!.

Some babies have more trouble settling down than others do. Going to bed at the same time each night will help him settle down. Keep the house quiet. Loud TV or music may keep your baby awake.

Sometimes my baby have a sleep problem because the room is to hot, so try to make your baby room is comfortable, 18-20 Celcius degree maybe enough for your baby.And another think that make my baby cannot sleep is mosquito. To help your baby to relax, you can give baby a warm bath, massage your baby or rock him. Reading or singing to him may also help him settle down. Don’t rush to him if he starts to cry. He may calm down after a few minutes and fall asleep on his own. If baby continues to cry, pick him up, and pat him calmly then stay beside your baby after they have been slept. This can help set a good pattern for going to sleep.
