Sudden Infant Death Syndrome becomes even alarming due to the fact that medical experts are still clueless of the causes of SIDS. Unsurprisingly, SIDS runs as the primary cause of death among infants from ages one month up to one year old.

Every year, 2,500 lives were killed in the United States, a very frightening figure. And in spite of further research through the years, causes of SIDS still linger as a big question to many.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome refers to the abrupt death of an infant. Definitely, this syndrome is daunting because it can stab a victim on its back without even noticing it. Even healthy-looking babies are prospective victims. In order to prevent SIDS from happening to their babies, parents and guardians of infants below one year old must be aware of the causes of SIDS.

Among the common scenarios of SIDS deaths are linked with crib death and babies who die without prior symptoms of illness and pain.

As what have mentioned earlier, common causes of SIDS remain unexplainable at the moment. There were babies who were peacefully sleeping in their crib who died suddenly without prior warnings.

In most cases, SIDS hits infants with ages 2-6 months old. This syndrome attacks babies when their parents or guardians are asleep. There are just few cases of SIDS that involve infants below 2 weeks and above 8 months.

Even though, causes of SIDS are still unknown, medical experts deemed that respiratory tract infection is one of the roots of this syndrome.

Various studies presented that infants who died due to SIDS had initial diagnosis of respiratory diseases. In relation to this, infant deaths are detected during winter and early spring, the seasons wherein respiratory illnesses are most likely to occur.

If the cause of the death of an infant is questionable, medical experts usually label it as SIDS. They believe that infant death rooted from SIDS; even though medical findings such as autopsy have been made already.

The following are the determinants that may lead to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome:
1.	If the infant is resting on his side or tummy.
2.	If the parents of the infant have a family history of SIDS.
3.	If the infant belongs to a family with a low income. In this case, the baby might not be getting adequate nourishment.
4.	If the mother of the infant became pregnant at an early age, which could just give the former little prenatal nourishment.
5.	If the mother of the infant smoked and used drugs at the time of pregnancy.
6.	If the infant is in an environment filled with second hand smoke.
7.	If the infant is born premature.
8.	If the infant is underweight upon birth.

Although causes of SIDS are not yet determined and proven, parents and guardians can still do something to save their newborn babies—and it is to not stop learning the things that will make their little angels healthy and happy.

Do you have baby crib bedding in your house?
I think most of parent from middle to higher wealth in economy purchase baby bedding crib for their first baby. With baby bedding crib, they could left their baby inside the crib and could doing another home work if they do not have baby sitter to nurse their baby.

For any parent who already have and parent who decide to buy baby bedding crib soon, please careful for Crib death (SIDS) to your baby safety. Some research in england reported that crib death is come from baby mattresses and another stuff in common baby crib bedding which generate some Toxic gases which come from the fungal activity on Phosphorus and arsenic compounds in that baby mattresses.

Here are some Faqs about Crib death (SIDS) from StopSIDSNow:

What is crib death (SIDS)?
Crib death (SIDS) is the most common cause of infant death in many Western countries. In most cases the baby has been put down to sleep in his or her crib and later found lifeless, with no sign of illness or physical struggle. Crib death can also occur in other situations which parallel “crib situations,” or which are sleeping environments, for example: strollers, carseats, playmats, sofas, and adults’ and children’s beds.

And How You could prevent Crib death (SIDS)?

Here are some baby crib safety tips from expert to prevent Crib Death (SIDS) in your Baby bedding crib:

Reading posts has never been a tough task. What has always been difficult though is imbibing what is being written. We have made a lot of effort in writing about SIDS and now it is for you to make use of it by reading it.

If someone claims that one has become omniscient about any topic, he must be told that there is no end to knowledge. And now when you have been reading this post about SIDS, you must consent to this.

It’s the most frightening, bewildering and heartbreaking thing that can happen with a newborn. Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). It’s defined as when as when a baby dies in the first year of life from no apparent cause. The causes still aren’t fully known, but in SIDS deaths, the baby’s recovery mechanisms if deprived of oxygen aren’t developed and he’s not able to rouse himself if his breathing becomes obstructed, such as when he’s sleeping face down.
In the beginning I mentioned that I are trying to provide you quality. And now when you are reading this post, do you think that I have been successful in our attempt.

There’s no way to predict whether a baby is at risk for SIDS, although the occurrence of SIDS deaths has decreased in the last 10 years. Creating a safe sleep environment for the baby is one way to help prevent SIDS.

For the first year of life, babies should be put to sleep on their backs. If put to sleep on their sides, they should be positioned with one arm forward to keep them from rolling over on their stomachs. Soft foam Idges can be purchased for just this purpose.

Avoid loose, fluffy bedding and make sure your baby’s face isn’t obstructed. Be careful not to overheat your baby by over-wrapping him or dressing him in too many layers.
Don’t smoke and don’t allow anyone else to smoke around the baby. Make sure he has a firm mattress in a safety-approved crib.

There are monitoring systems that can alert you if the baby stops breathing. There are some indications when you might want to consider this:

-If the baby has had any life-threatening episodes, such as turning blue, or an episode requiring mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
-If the baby had older siblings who died of SIDS.
-If the baby was premature

Make sure to keep all well-baby appointments to make sure his lungs are fully developed and to maintain all immunizations.
So, now I come to the end of the post about SIDS and now it is for you to keep in mind everything that I discussed and you can share what you learnt with others also.
